Pobl yng Nghaerdydd, Cymru, y DU a’r gymuned ryngwladol ehangach sydd â diddordeb mewn adrodd storïau fel celfyddyd berfformio draddodiadol neu gyfoes, neu yn unrhyw un o’r meysydd amrywiol sy’n defnyddio crefft adrodd storïau – addysg, iechyd a lles, sefydliadau cyfathrebu, y gyfraith, y weinidogaeth, gofal cymdeithasol, trefnu cymunedau, treftadaeth, twristiaeth ac ati – yw ein haelodau cysylltiol allanol. 11:00am-12:00pm: Gweithdy un: Mae Teimladau’n Bethau Smala, gyda Dr Steve Killick, Seicolegydd Clinigol a Storïwr. Mae’r gweithdy yn disgrifio ac arddangos rhai o’r technegau a ddefnyddir yn ‘Mae Teimladau yn Bethau Smala’, ymyriad a ddefnyddir i ddatblygu llythrennedd emosiynol mewn ysgolion cynradd.

1:00-2:00pm: Gweithdy Adrodd Storïau Digidol, gydag aelodau cysylltiol ac ymchwilwyr y Ganolfan, yn cynnwys Karen Lewis, cyn-Gyfarwyddwr GEECS, Sylfaenydd-Gyfarwyddwr StoryWorks; Dr. Emily Underwood-Lee, Cymrawd Ymchwil y Ganolfan, a William Gold, Ymchwilydd Cysylltiol y Ganolfan ar Broject RICE (Lleihau Allyriadau Carbon Diwydiannol)

GEECS External Associates Day, Year Two

External Associates are those in the Cardiff, Wales, UK, and international community with professional interests in storytelling as a traditional or contemporary performance art or in any of the varied community and institutional applications of storytelling—from education to health and well-being, organizational or mass communication, law, ministry, social care, community organizing, heritage and tourism, etc. We have both individual and organizational external associates, whose presence on the Centre website, at our events, and in our chain of communications help to deepen the web of collaborative opportunities for storytelling in higher education, research, funding sectors, and the arts.

Programme:

Friday, 12 July, 9:30am, Zen Room (CA B403), Atrium, 4th Floor: Coffee/Tea, conversation

10-11:00am: Welcome and updates by Joseph Sobol, Centre Director. Story invocation by Daniel Morden, Centre Visiting Fellow. Introduction to proposed MA course, Storytelling in Performance, Media, and Communities. Introduction of EA Day participants.

11:00-12.00am: Workshop one: Feelings are Funny Things, with Dr Steve Killick, Clinical Psychologist and Storyteller. This workshop describes and demonstrates some of the techniques used in ‘Feelings are Funny Things’ an intervention to develop emotional literacy in primary schools.

12:00-1:00pm: lunch

1:00-2:00pm: Digital Storytelling Workshop, with Centre associates and researchers, including Karen Lewis, former GEECS Director, Founder-Director of StoryWorks; Dr. Emily Underwood-Lee, Centre Research Fellow, and William Gold, Centre Research Associate for the RICE (Reducing Industrial Carbon Emissions) Project

2:00-3:00pm: Project sharing and open forum.
