We are delighted to welcome Prof Mike Wilson back to the George Ewart Evans Centre for Storytelling as Visiting Professor.

Mike founded the Centre back in 2005 and, while we have maintained close working links with Mike since he left, it is great to be able to welcome him back in an official capacity.

Mike is recognised as an international expert on storytelling and vernacular theatre. He has published a number of books on the subject including Performance and Practice: Oral Narrative Traditions Among Teenagers in Britain and Ireland, (1997), Aldershot: Ashgate, Storytelling and Theatre: Contemporary Professional Storytellers and their Art, (2005), ‘Theatre and Performance Practices’ Series, Palgrave and Luzel’s Folk Tales of Lower Brittany (2016) (translated texts with critical introduction), ‘Fairy-Tale Studies’ series, Wayne State University Press (forthcoming).
